Here is the abstract for the talk that will be given by Antony Martin of Dialogic:

Video is becoming an increasingly important component in designing next generation communications systems, which include such diverse applications as voice/video conferencing, security, and interactive training.  However, the complexities of effectively implementing video are an obstacle to the widespread deployment of these types of applications.

Dialogic’s experience and understanding encompasses a diverse breadth of technical issues surrounding video deployments including handset compatibility and interoperability, the “three-screen” problem,  bandwidth limitations, optimization, transcoding, rate control and video analytics (video quality, logo detection, skin detection, watermarking).

This presentation will help the open source developer understand and appreciate these complexities, as well as the tools being developed by Dialogic to help ease the difficulties associated with video implementations.  It will also show a number of exiting new applications that are already deployed using these solutions.
